MV Line Disconnector

AT series MV/LV line disconnector is used for electrical isolation of lines, transformers, switchgear and reactive power compensation equipment in 6kV-35kV distribution systems. It has no arc-extinguishing capability and forms a clearly visible break gap after opening to ensure maintenance safety. Features porcelain insulators, three-phase horizontal arrangement, pneumatic or electric operating mechanism, simple structure, high current-carrying capacity and long mechanical life.

Application

AT series MV/LV line disconnector is a switching device without arc-extinguishing capability, mainly used to create a clear visible isolation gap during equipment outage maintenance or switching operations, ensuring reliable isolation between the equipment under maintenance and the live grid.  Used for:

Electrical isolation of overhead lines and cable lines

Incoming/outgoing line isolation for substation transformers

Incoming/outgoing line isolation for HV switchgear and ring main units

Switching and isolation of reactive power compensation equipment (capacitor banks, reactor banks)

Bus-tie isolation between sectionalized busbars

Isolation at generator and motor terminals

Safety isolation between power supply and DUT in test systems

Structural Features

Three-phase horizontal arrangement: Three poles horizontally aligned, compact structure, easy busbar connection

Porcelain insulator support: High-strength porcelain or composite insulators, pollution and aging resistant

Visible break gap design: Clear visible contact gap after opening for confirming isolation status

Pneumatic/electric operating mechanism: High operating torque, reliable action, remote control or automation available

Copper/aluminum conductive circuit: Contacts and busbars made of copper or silver-plated copper, high current-carrying capacity, low contact resistance

Mechanical interlock: Mechanical or electrical interlock with grounding switches and circuit breakers to prevent misoperation

Anti-corrosion treatment: Metal parts hot-dip galvanized or powder-coated for outdoor, coastal and heavily polluted environments

Maintenance-free design: Sealed transmission parts and maintenance-free bearings reduce O&M costs

Selection Guide

10kV overhead line: Choose 12kV / 630A / 20kA, outdoor pedestal installation

35kV substation line: Choose 40.5kV / 1250A / 31.5kA, electric operating mechanism

Switchgear installation: Choose indoor type with mechanical interlock matching circuit breaker

Reactive power compensation: Choose 12kV / 630A-1250A with earthing switch

Frequent operation: Choose electric or pneumatic mechanism for higher reliability

Coastal/heavily polluted area: Choose composite insulators or reinforced porcelain, enhanced anti-corrosion

Test system isolation: Choose visible-break type for confirming complete isolation
